How to Assign a DOI

This is a slide I put together from a broader presentation I have given on the politics of the DOI and why it matters. This image to me shows exactly why we need to care about something seemingly as small and mundane as the DOI. It is the technical object through which big corporates can wield their power and surveillance and continue to exert their control over the whole knowledge infrastructure at large. You use the system on their terms incuding the costs that you have to pay to participate.
